August 15, was the day when India met its destiny, the day when most people dreamed of work for every hand and water for every field. When a glow of hope appeared in people's eyes. Glow to end malnutrition, illiteracy, and inequality of opportunities, to eat brightly, clothing on the body, and a roof over the head. The glow was for clean drinking water, quality education for children, and easy access to affordable medical facilities. If we take a look at the country's journey over the last 75 years, then it seems many dreams have come true, but there is also the possibility of not being able to do much. Sometimes it seems that a new India is taking shape, from space to manufacturing indigenous corona vaccine, from being a world leader in software development to manufacturing fighter planes, from self-reliance in food grain production to the construction of world-class high- ways and express ways, from the network of quality AIIMS, IITs, IIMs and medical colleges to the idea of using drones in agriculture and the promise of medical insurance to 50 crore people in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This is visible as far back as the beginning of financial inclusion through Jan Dhan accounts. But other times it seems that a new India is developing inside Bharat which is shattering the dreams of freedom fighters and the people and India's progress is limited only to the progress of a few people in terms of GDP and per capita income figures. It has become a part of the average game. On one hand, more than half of the children are malnourished and on the other hand, most of the rural youth want to do government jobs. Good infrastructure is not important for them. Unless the spirit of self-employment and becoming a job creator is developed, infrastructure will provide limited benefits to rural India and the wealth distribution gap will continue to widen, which will continue to make a splash in the form of an increase in GDP and per capita income. It will develop an India within Bharat.
Of course, it is a time to celebrate, but it is certainly a time to memorize unfulfilled dreams and to take resolutions.
Let our rulers take a pledge – to end illiteracy and inequality of opportunity and to implement the rule of law on the ground along with providing work to every hand and water to every field.
Resolution by the people - to become a job creator by coming out of the narrow thinking and acts.
